Guide to installing Sirius receiver BMW

This installation guide is designed to complement the instructions to install the BMW to help you with installing Sirius receiver BMW X 5 (E53) with navigation. I chose Terk SIR3 low profile magnetic mount antenna and mounted in the spoiler. As a result of this tutorial will not cover the installation of antennas Sirius BMW and you must follow instructions, along with Sirius satellite antenna Kit BMW if you decide to go that route. I found no loss or a weak signal reception antenna, while a spoiler and highly recommend if you want to be stealth and don't like intrusive form of BMW Sirius antenna on your roof.
You can also try to mount the antenna Sirius BMW spoiler, but it is too large to fit in there. I tried to lift the lid of the antenna to make room, but could not pull back the weather stripping to torx screws. Photo BMW Sirius satellite antenna is shown in the last section, to show you more details.
Cost wise, Terk SIR3 and Sir-SP splitter cost around $ 65 plus sales tax and can be purchased from Best Buy, Circuit City, Crutchfield, sound, or your local stores audio. Satellite dish roof-BMW retailed at $ 125.00 and can be purchased for as little as $ 93.60 from Pacific BMW, BMW circle or Crevier BMW. It takes me about 3:0 to complete the project, and most of the time was spent on assembling Terk antenna on the spoiler and fishing SIR3 the antenna lead through rubber gasket (about 1 and ½ hours!). But I also wanted to take my time and do it right, especially not rushing through the procedure and kink or crimp, generates antenna.
Last but not least, some of the images included in this guide came from Slappy, who assembled his XM antenna spoiler.
