GPS installation guide for BMW E90/E91/E92/E93
Flat head screwdrivers and Phillips head screwdriver or T20 torx driver T15 and only the elements necessary to complete this installation. Also expired credit card or similar (see step 1) is not required. Note that this setting is made on the E90 LCI. Installation is similar to vehicles, non-DEVELOPMENTAL, depending on whether you have a button bar for the heated seats, PDC, etc. PLEASE READ the ENTIRE INSTRUCTION MANUAL for UNDERSTANDING the process and to see where the INSTRUCTIONS DIFFER for vehicles with THIS BAND.
Procedure:
Take your credit card or a similarly rigid material and cut it as shown.
Insert a map between control heater and dash trim
Pull back on the map, repeat on the other side and pull control heater + trim outwards.
Remove the two wires from the rear of the Control Panel, heater, depressing plastic in front of a coloured piece of … …
and slide the colored piece until the plugin can be removed completely.
Now if you heated seat controls, Park distance control, etc. remove the button bar with the bracket.
carefully use small screwdriver to remove the tab to release control panel heater with trim.
To remove the two bottom screws with the bracket, use the T20 torx.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to top two screws with the bracket (below radio) radio and pull forward.
Disconnect all cables from the back of the radio.
Some of the cables will be attached to the radio piece of plastic wrapped in Ribbon. Cut the tape with the siscors release wires.
Release the antenna cable from the back of the radio to use small flat head screwdriver to lift the pink clip and slide out.
Remove the screws and bolts as shown above and below ...
