MSD Pro-Billet ready-to-run Chrysler distributor PN 8391-331/354 early Hemi
Before proceeding with the installation, here are some definitions that you should be aware of: Initial date: this is a time base (also referred to as the timing idle) engine prior to the onset of the centrifugal. Centrifugal advance: Centrifugal (or mechanical) preliminary mechanism consists of weights, springs, cams and advance stop sleeve. The amount and pace of progress, which is your distributor is centrifugal timing. If you ever want to lock the centrifugal advance, see centrifugal advance. Total time: this is the total number of initial terms plus centrifugal advance, added. Example: 10 initial + 25° centrifugal = 35° the entire time. (When checking the overall time, disconnect the vacuum filter and attach vacuum source).
Vacuum: vacuum advance in advance will help to frame up to 10° at a partial throttle driving (with 15 pounds of vacuum). Vacuum lines must be sent to the ported vacuum outlet above the throttle plate.
Note: MSD distributors supplied with sources of heavy (slow) pre-installed. It is necessary to prevent an explosion in some applications. View the information on pages 2-4 to determine the best ahead of the curve for your application.
